FX Sales – Manager

Our client an Investment Bank is looking for an FX Sales Manage to join them.

Their international team provides trading, sales, structuring and risk management solutions for our clients across global financial markets. This includes FX, commodities, equity, credit, fixed income and debt instruments. We also offer market insight, trading services, analytics and new financial products across a number of asset classes.
Job purpose:
Overall management and responsibility for Global Markets Foreign exchange Sales operating in the Business Banking segment.
Responsibilities:
• Contribute, develop and drive the overall PBB FX Sales Strategy
• Participate in yearly planning by contribution and execution of the PBB FX strategy.
• Acquisition of additive flow business for foreign exchange to grow the business by a minimum requirement of 30 percentage year on year.
• Retention of the FX franchise through a targeted and coordinated client calling plan
• Growing the provincial businesses, including branch FX, with the aim of meeting the national budget.
• Meet minimum target requirements for platform selling, primarily International Banking and FX Trading (IBFX), contributing to the national SA target of 1000 clients per month.
• Providing an FX marketing plan for high revenue clients in the suites/branches
• Visibility at all connect-sessions, unit cell head meetings, as well as the provincial BCM meetings.
• Portfolio discussions with Account Executives that are aligned to the business suites.
• Be accessible to AE and clients in suites
• Joint client calling with Account Executives
• Up-skilling and training of the AEs on all matters FX
• Cross selling of trade and GM products
• Meeting prescribed options targets
• Client mapping – profiling of clients according to the execution of FX.
• Providing sector specific solutions for growth opportunities
• Secure Large Ticket forex deals (LTDs) from Suites
• Acquaint yourself with research information related to FX and the FX Market; and ensure this is disseminated to the portfolio.
• More time is required in suites while visibility in the dealing room is required, but to a lesser extent.
• Relationships (Internal & External)
• Establish, grow and maintain a broad network of stakeholders both internally and externally.
• Be the primary contact in the Business Banking suites for all matters pertaining to Forex Exchange
• Support the Account Executives (AEs) in developing relationships with significant stakeholders across the Forex value chain such as International Banking helpdesk.
• Foreign trade services, Trade Sales & Service etc.
• Be present at all events, including client functions and GM events.
• Build close partnership and collaboration on client solutions with all stakeholders across the forex value chain such as Trades Sales & Service, Business Online, FTS, credit, KYC etc.
• Information & Reporting
• Ensure that the monthly Executive summary report is readily available for input into Executive Management reporting.
• Take ownership of data integrity/accuracy of reporting.
• Have a thorough understanding of the strategic business drivers, opportunities, challenges, needs, competition and threats inherent in your specific Business Suites/Province
• Have a good knowledge of both traditional and non-traditional competitors, their products, strengths, vulnerabilities, market share, client base and the impact that these factors have on Foreign exchange value proposition to the client base.
• Provide any client critical information to the broader team and other relevant stakeholders
• Be able to identify and feedback on any anticipated risks and threats to the business
• Have insight into local and international trends, developments and benchmarks within the Foreign Exchange world, specifically in our segment.
Requirements:
• At least 3 years working experience in marketing foreign exchange products and services
• An excellent working knowledge of FX sales, FX products and an intermediate understanding of other treasury products.
• Thorough understanding and knowledge of the Exchange Control Rules and Regulations.
• Understand the compliance environment as it relates to KYC &, FAIS.
• Understanding of economic indicators and its effect on the FX market.
• Good inter and intra personal skill that can be leveraged into relationship building and maintenance.
• Knowledge/Technical Skills/Expertise: Financial instruments pricing including linear and non-linear instruments, as well as understanding Financial instrument risk parameters.
• Business strategy experience a plus but not necessary.
• Prior trading experience a plus but not necessary.
• Risk management ability.
• Strong understanding of banking and treasury risk.
• Banking regulation and liquidity risk management (advantage)
• Competencies: Computer literate.
• A level of understanding with regards to FX spot, FX forwards and options pricing.
• Proficiency in reading and writing
• Thorough understanding of credit and the Bank’s credit methodology; as well as the implications on Foreign Exchange dealing
• Good understanding of FX product risk management System Knowledge
